Now, for the exciting news! One of these was found by someone. Here's the email I was sent on 8/3/01:

Dear Valery,
Namaste. Yesterday i was driving down Chestnut street and I came to a stop sign. I begin to move through the intersection when your beautiful painting caught my eye. I knew instantly and with joy and excitement that you had made something extratroidinary. The concept of putting art out into the world is beautiful- galleries are great meuseums amazing but what about leaving art for anyone to find? I was on the way to mail a package to my dearest friend who has been struggling lately. I took down the painting and soaked it up with my eyes. I placed it in the box going to Asheville NC. Thank-you. At this time I am broke and struggling to pay bills- however I don't envision this to be so for very long- I would like to support your efforts perhaps I can send you money for the painting in the future for I do appreciate your art. I checked out your site and and felt drawn to the green spiral and many others I can't describe properly.
My name is mary and I'm 23 years old. i live in Wilmington and I came here to grow and rediscover my wild creative self. i beleive that creativity nourishes us and provides energy and healing to our spirits. I feel it is courageous to be creative and share it with the world- i am excted to work on projects like this. The concept of leaving art for the world to find- Artistic Terrorism-is what I discovered it as. I had lost a large part of my artistic self and so I have been attempting similair projects. I feel that my true medium is poetry though I like to mess around with paints and colors on paper too. I have been composing haikus and poems anonymous to paste upon bustops and coin slots and bathroom mirrors. a piece of recycled countertop canvas for a painting to be made and placed in a perfect indention in a wall downtown.
To see your painting and realize others out there are making art to reach people was deeply encouraging- you are doing great work- and it is reaching people. Is it okay with you that I sent your art to asheville. i know he will appreciate it- and I wonder perhaps it could be kept for a time and then sent to a new place like Oregon or Iowa where we have friends. Then it could reach even more people and inspire them. i like the feeling of interconnectedness over long distance. anyhow- I support your efforts and I thank-you for reminding me to stay true to the dream of making art what ever style it is- art and synchronicity is everywhere! Rock Steady and teeth to the wind! write me if you like- xxxxxxx@hotmail.com Stay blessed,
Mary
